At a glance

Ampere works with regional tourism boards that have real, useful information about local attractions — scattered across PDFs, spreadsheets, and one very outdated website.

They pointed the xFlow agent at that scattered content and put a QR code on printed materials at visitor centers and events, so travelers could ask questions in their own language on the spot.

The agent now answers questions in multiple languages, pulling from the same regional content the tourism board already had, just finally organized into something travelers can actually talk to.

It turned static regional content into a guide travelers can actually talk to. That's more than a chatbot to us, it's how our region becomes discoverable at all.

The information existed. It just wasn't reachable

Ampere works with regional tourism boards that have real, useful information about local attractions, but that information was scattered across PDFs, spreadsheets, and one very outdated website, and almost none of it was available in a traveler's own language.

"The knowledge tourists needed was accurate and already written down. It just wasn't searchable, and it definitely wasn't available at 9pm when someone was actually planning tomorrow," Hideo Tanaka, Ampere's Business Development lead, said.

A guide travelers can put in their pocket

Ampere pointed the xFlow agent at that scattered regional content and put a QR code on printed materials at visitor centers and events, so travelers could ask questions in their own language on the spot, no app download required.

The agent now answers in multiple languages, pulling from the same regional content the tourism board already had, just finally organized into something a traveler can actually talk to instead of search through.

The results

830 traveler conversations in 4 months. Sustained usage from a single QR code rollout across visitor centers and events.

200 conversations per month on average. Consistent traveler engagement well beyond the initial launch period.

30% contact rate at live events. Nearly a third of attendees who saw the QR code at an event started a conversation.

12 messages per conversation on average. Travelers hold real back-and-forth conversations, not one-off lookups.

What’s next

Ampere is now working with additional regional boards to bring the same multilingual coverage to more of the printed materials travelers actually encounter on the ground.

Just try it with the content you already have. You don't need to rewrite anything, you need it organized somewhere travelers can actually reach.
